The PCM Group is a proponent of active pedagogy that aims at the participation of the trainees themselves in the learning process as well as their ownership of the learning process.
In the training sessions we propose, participants acquire know-how by doing and by sharing ideas, experience and knowledge with other trainees and not simply by listening to how things ought to be done.
These sessions are varied in nature and take the form of: brainstorming sessions, practical exercises, guided discussions, assignments, global simulations etc…
Special attention is paid to group dynamics, and our trainers enhance this by introducing variety and by facilitating rigorous and logistical organisation. Homogeneous groups are avoided; instead they are enriched by the presence of trainees from different organisations, sectors and experiences, with different languages and cultures. Our trainers are gender sensitive. They also speak a number of languages and can this interact with trainees speaking English, French, Italian and Spanish amongst others.
It is anticipated that many problems, suggestions and solutions are shared and carried out by trainees. However, this wealth runs the risk of being lost and not being utilised. Thus, this pool of knowledge is well structured and recorded. As a learning and reference tool, a syllabus is handed out and the trainers ensure that the essence of the workshop content is visualised in the space where training takes place. This is done by writing clearly and visibly information on colour cards stuck on special boards / paper.
[alert type=”notice”]Our syllabus contains a bibliography and reference material.[/alert]At the end of each course an anonymously written evaluation is done. A compilation is made to draw conclusions and adjust our training.
